Here, every road leads you back home to yourself.

Here, every road leads you back home to yourself.

Rewilding is the practice of trusting yourself as your own answer and your own authority, on ordinary days and hard ones, for as long as you’re alive. Stay here as long as you like.

You don’t need to do anything on this page. Let your feet find the floor and let your jaw soften. Notice what’s holding you up right now, and let it do that for a minute. Then read on slowly, or don’t read on at all.

What Rewilding is

What Rewilding is

Rewilding began as an emergency exit. During a twenty-minute break at a retreat, god handed me a question: what's the way out for the woman who can't stand her life anymore? It crystallized something I already knew. Her way out was right outside her window, and ultimately, inside her. The path was obvious, and yet most of us walk straight past it.

I took a blank white sheet of paper and drew her map. It started with understanding why she feels trapped at all, then undoing those pieces one by one until she's back in her natural self. That map became Rewilding, and as I kept living with what I found, the exit became a place to live.

Rewilding is a practice you never finish. You see what's true in you, you stay with it and you trust it, and then life hands you something new and you do it again. Every return is the work.

Sexuality, pleasure, creativity, aggression, grief, appetite, stillness and power all come from the same source, which is being alive. Rewilding asks you to stop judging that life force when it arrives in an inconvenient form, and to learn to relate to it consciously.

The Grounds is the garden around the Temple, tended earth where wild things grow and someone looks after the soil. Everything here is planted with intention, so you can wander safely and begin to recognize yourself again, at your own pace.

Nature holds the codes of life, and it shares them just by existing. A single rose can teach you as much as a mountain can, if you slow down enough to listen.

You never need to enter the Temple. You're welcome to stay here with yourself and let life whisper.

How we learn to leave ourselves

How we learn to leave ourselves

Most women learned early which parts of them were welcome. We were taught there was a right way to be and that the answer always lived somewhere outside us, with our worth measured by how we looked.

So we got skilled at overriding. We swallow anger before it reaches our mouths and talk ourselves out of desire before it can mean anything. Over the years it becomes so automatic that we call it our personality. The body usually notices first, through crying for no reason, pleasure that went quiet years ago, or a fantasy of leaving that gets more detailed every month.

You were never meant to be a single, contained, steady thing. You are meant to be you, uniquely and powerfully.

Leave what made you leave yourself.
Then, learn to stay with her.

The vows

Rewilding comes down to three vows you make to yourself. You never graduate from them. You just get better at keeping them.

I see you.

I see you.

I see you.

I’m willing to notice what’s actually here, rather than the version I wish were here or the version I was taught to feel. That includes the desire, the fear, the old conditioning and the contradiction.

I stay with you.

I stay with you.

I stay with you.

I don’t abandon myself when what I find becomes inconvenient. I stay when desire has consequences, when someone doesn’t understand, and when it gets intense. Staying means refusing to leave myself in every ordinary moment, including when I’m tired or irritated or sad.

I let my own knowing matter again. My body, my instinct and my lived experience get their authority back, and I stop handing my truth to systems, partners, teachers or culture by default. That includes me.

Recently, I found myself unusually furious. I’d been dealing with urinary tract sensitivity after sex, and after a night of play with a lover I could feel the possibility of another infection. Of course that's uncomfortable, but why was I angry?

I reviewed the night and I wasn't mad at him, he accommodated my needs when asked and has always been gracious, so I knew there was something else here. Part of me wanted to call it a bad mood and move on. Instead, I got curious and started saying out loud what was really going on.

I let myself see the rage. Why does my pussy have to be so fucking sensitive? I was angry that pleasure seemed to require vigilance, and that something I loved could have consequences. Underneath was the part of me that wanted no limits at all. Fuck. Why do I have to manage things, worry, handle it all. Why can't I just have a good time?!

I stay with you.
I didn’t spiritualize it, and I didn’t try to change anything. I stayed, and the anger turned into grief. I was sad that my freedom wasn’t going to come from having no boundaries. I envisioned a carefree life being taken away from me. I was annoyed at the thought of needing to explain and monitor my intimate experiences with lovers. But mostly, I hated the responsibility of acknowledging and owning consequences of not only my actions but other people's actions, too. I am impacted. I grieved for my perceived loss of freedom. And I stayed.

Eventually something softened. My body wasn’t betraying me or trying to stop me from my carefree pleasures. She was teaching me what boundaries look like, why they're needed, and how I can relook at my relationship with my own preferences and needs. She taught me that I'm not trying to be special or think I'm better than people when I hold my boundaries, it's simply what I specifically need to be well, and that might be different than another part of my body or someone else.

By the end I wasn’t angry with her anymore. I was grateful for how clearly she speaks.

Every journey within is different. Every encounter or initiation or inconvenient moment looks different. But the vows work the same way.

A practice to begin

A practice to begin

This week, notice the moment you leave yourself. It might be a swallowed word, a yes you didn’t mean, or a feeling you talked yourself out of.

Don’t fix it.

Rewilding is a philosophy and a practice for sovereign humans wanting to live more fully. It works alongside therapy and other modalities. Keep whatever structure actually serves you and add the vows in.

You can ask for a private Rewilding session (online) with Mayra or join an upcoming Rewilding LIVE cohort for a 2-day immersion.

“I didn’t need to become anything. I simply remembered who I already am.

Every thread, from stillness to Temple Night, was woven with integrity, reverence and deep care. You trusted the feminine to lead, and we felt that trust in our bodies.

This experience lives in my heart. Rest is not an indulgence. It’s the revolution.”
